Why Have a Mobile Website?
Is it really worth it to have a mobile website? Absolutely, and now is the perfect time to get in. Here’s why!
Did You Know?
8 of 10 consumers will instantly abandon a mobile site if the site isn’t optimized for mobile, and doesn’t meet their expectations.
Consider these facts from Google:
During a meeting with Marc Benioff at Salesforce’s Dreamforce in San Francisco Erick Schmidt, Google Chairman and former CEO, had this to say about mobile:
“The next generation of leaders and start-ups to emerge will involve mobile, local and social.” He told Mr. Benioff that, “We’re reaching diminishing returns in developing products for the desktop PC. It’s mature in both economic and technological respects.”
At the same conference in February 2010 Google’s Mr. Schmidt announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelonathat Google will consider “mobile first” in all future endeavors.
Anything Google creates from here on out will be first placed on the mobile platform and then be worked around for the desktop.
He concluded by saying,
“Mobile is pretty much the answer on everything,”
announcing a major shift in Google’s strategy.

i was wondering more about what type of business you think it is essential to have a mobile website. For example we install commercial security and home alarm systems. so far we are focused on web search thinking that mobile is more for instant seekers as in restaurants.
Mobile is excellent for instant seekers, but it’s also fantastic for Google Local Searches. If someone is searching for commercial security systems, Google places a heavier weight on a mobile site. That results in your site showing up in higher search result on Google.
Google has changed their entire platform for mobile, so getting a mobile site is a great start to stay up with the latest SEO trends.
